Bhusandheshwar: A legendary evidence at the bank of Subarnarekha & Bay of Bengal.

Bhusandheshwar: A legendary evidence at the bank of Subarnarekha & Bay of Bengal.

Welcome friends to my post. As I have told you that my native contains a lot of beautiful & scenic spots in its surrounding. So Bhusandheshwar is one of them. The location itself conveys its spectacular picturesque scenery. You might be pleased to know this place is famous in all over the world for the giant shaped Shivling. Which is one & only giant shaped natural shiv ling in the world. Having a height of 12 feet & radius of 2 feet. So many legends behind the etymology of this mysterious place. Whatever it may be but our intention is to enjoy the beauty of nature. Every corner you will find the magnificence over there. Either you are a nature lover or Orthodox these places are suitable for you.
As this place is having close proximity to my village so a lot of time we have been there. Whenever I was getting time, not losing the chance to visit there not for praying to Lord but for passing few times lonely at the lap of Estuarine (Meeting point of River Suvernarekha & Bay of Bengal), to freshen up mind by cool wind & lot more(?). So many times with friends also I visited there. So there is no particular date for which this travelogue meant for.
Information
The legend tells: Bhusandheswar literally means the lord of land but not such myth exists. Though many myths exist for the appearance of this giant shaped Shivling. One of them is: While Bhim(of Mahabharat Era) carrying the giant shaped Shivling had placed here and went for passing urine. By the force of his urine the big canal created and when he returned back and tried to carry this shivling could not able to move after applying his giant force & finally after failure he let this Shiv ling to be here. Since that day Lord Bhusandheswar adored here. But there is not the reality of such a myth so let myth to be a myth and enjoy the existence.
This temple was built since long time ago. One side is bestowed by crop fields and another side is by Suvernarekha & Bay of Bengal giving a gorgeous picturesque. I could remember when I was a child (1990’s) there was no communication to this temple in rainy season as no bridge could be built due to the giant force of tide. Every time they were trying to make a bridge but getting washed away by the tide. As in rainy season, one side of temple gets submerged and other side river canal.  After a lot of failures, using the modern technique of civil engineering they could successfully build in the 2000’s. So now proper communication is there. Irrespective of any season we can visit there as both side the road is made thanks to the local political leader who proposed to make the road at least they are doing something!!.
When you stand at the temple you can see the Choumukh sea beach at another side of the river which can be reached by local boats. Choumukh is another beautiful virgin sea beach of Odisha. Local boat service available from choumukh to Bhusandheswar.
Now there is bank conservation project going on, so govt. is trying to protect the river bank by placing big rock/gravels. We can seat over the rock and can enjoy the beauty of Suvernarekha as well as the Bay of Bengal with the cool wind. We can enjoy the fishing by local people also by seating here. Though no accommodation available here till date we can switch to Digha/Chandaneswar for accommodation which is the feasible distance from here (21/15 km).
Nearby Places: As told lot of beautiful famous places are around Like Digha Sea beach (21 Kms), Chandaneswar Shrine, Dogra  & Choumukh Sea beach(can be reached by boat service). Beside this you can roam around a lot of beautiful villages, can see the Prawn culture, betel cultivation, paddy crop etc.

Digha & Talsari Sea Beach: Precious Ornaments Of Bay Of Bengal

Digha & Talsari Sea Beach:- "Precious Ornaments Of Bay Of Bengal"

Dear friends, hope that you have relished my last few posts. Today I am going to introduce one beautiful place located near my native.

#Photos are attached beneath the story to ease the reading experience.
* Jump to the information section here.

In my introduction I have mentioned about my native as Baleshwar Dist. of Odisha. A small village of Baleshwar named Jayrampur is my native.  Maximum person feels proud as borned in urban area but I feel very gratified as borned in rural area. The small village Jayrampur is not small in its legend & beauty. So many became Doctor, Engineer & other Honor by studying at this village. This village is devoid of any industrial pollution. The village where you can observe peace in any place. So simply I love my village very much. I will post separately describing the novelty of my native village Jayrampur.
The village has so many beautiful spots surroundings. Whenever I return to my village I visit these places very often with my native friends. Due to proximity of this village to Bay of Bengal Sea, sometimes we visit sea beaches & have fun there. The sea beaches are Talsari, Angaria & Digha. Though Digha is not in our state as situated at west Bengal 17 kms from my village. No problem in which state it may as nature enthusiasts never bother about any border, any state. I am one of them. So many times we move there by cycle. Few friends hesitate to get there by cycle as cycling is quite laborious work. I never look backward if no company is there moving lonely. But maximum time friends cooperated me thanks to them.
So there is no exact day for which this post belongs to. So many times we have been there (all these sea beaches). I just posting today by combining many of them (Not all of them as photos available for few visits only). Describing specialty of each beaches. Hope you will love.

Talsari Sea beach:
Literally Talsari means the line of Tal (Sweet palm tree). Not such legend behind the etymology of this place. As at this beach you will rarely find palm tree instead millions of casurina  plant you will find. What may be, we are not much more concerned with etymology rather our concern is on the scenic beauty. The place is famous for many reasons:

1.Fishing depot: You can observe hundreds of boats at his beach. One depot is there where you will find pile of marine fishes caught by local fisherman. If you are vegetarian then this place may bother you by the pungent smell of marine fish. Don’t be panic other place is there to amaze your mind.

2.Sea beach: Of course this is a sea beach, you can enjoy it. The beach is different from normal sea beach as not such wave is observed there.

3.Red crab at island beach: Most interesting thing is the red crabs. They found in millions and make the beach like red carpet. If you want to catch them, it’s pretty difficult. They are very clever, when you try to catch them immediately they percept it by their antenna. Suddenly they entered into their premade holes. Not only they get alert themselves about incoming enemy but also they alert others also. Great is their combination & coordination. So don’t ever try to hurt them. They make the beach more beautiful & attracting thousands of tourists from all over India & abroad. Believe me you will enjoy this extraordinary creation of nature. If you want to see them then you have to reach at the island. The island is reachable only after the down tide. You can ask the local people about the tide time. Otherwise you will get stuck there for hours till the down tide. If you are getting stuck there, nothing to worry as you can enjoy there. Deep casurina jungle, red crab etc. will entertain you. As that place isolated one so it will bring island staying experience. You will astonish to see a primary school & very small village there. Biking is prohibited here to conserve the red crabs.

4. Sand valleys: you might have seen rock valleys, but here you will observe sand valleys. Playing with friends in the sand valley is great experience. Don’t miss this opportunity.

5.Lord Chandaneswar Shrine: This is the famous shrine of East odisha for the power of Lord Shiva. Situated 3 km distance from Talsari. You will notice thousands of crowding on Monday by Bengali & Odisha Devotees. I will post separately for this place.

6.Lord Bhusandheshwar Shrine: This shrine is famous in all over the world for the Giant shaped Shivling. Situated at 18 Km from Talsari. Also I will post separately about this place with more description for your convenience.

Angaria Ghat beach: Literally angaria means something which is made up of charcoal (Angaar). Nothing such legend is there. This is a small beach and you will find less cowling there. This beach stands for Odisha & west Bengal border. If you want to pass the leisure at lonely or less crawling place then this beach is best option for you. If you have a craze for biking at sea beach then you can find many hawkers waiting there for customers. So enjoy the amazing biking at the beach. This place is best for picnic also. Few industrialists now building resorts near the beach. Another interesting point is tent house which is arranged by W.B. authority. Where you can enjoy staying night with your desired persons.

Digha Sea beach: Another spectacular place near my locality and of purely West Bengal. This beach divided into two namely Old-Digha & New-Digha. Which is an attempt made for minimizing the crawling at one beach.  Both beaches are very beautiful where you can enjoy them with different flavor. Also Digha is small developed town. Throughout the year both places crowded by the tourists from different corner of India & Abroad. Though peak crowd you can observe between Oct-May.  Of course there is no problem of accommodation as abundant hotels & resorts available. From which you peak one according to your budget.

What you will see there:

1. Old Digha Sea beach: As the name conveys this is the old one. Situated near the Digha –Kolkata highway. You cannot have the bathing experience here as bathing is difficult at this beach due to deep in nature. To have bathing experience you have to switch to New-Digha beach. Seat over the beach made there & observe the serenity of Bay of Bengal. The sprinkled water of wave will touch you sometimes. Anybody will forget all his sad while seating in front of the sea.

2. New Digha sea Beach: Another beautiful cum picnic spot. Throughout the year this place is crowded due to proper communication. This is just 2 km away from old Digha and connected with proper mode of transportation. Lot of restaurants & lodges available here so obviously no problem for accommodation. Whole beach is guarded by Casurina jungle & sand valleys where you can enjoy having picnic. The cool wind is enough to amuse your mind. Lot of shopping items available at the beach so pick what you like.

3. Jurassic Park & Digha Science center: Both at same place situated near the W.B & Odisha border (1 km). This place is best for students as various science exhibition performed here. So gain scientific experience here. This park is closed on Sunday. Though suitable for students but anybody can enjoy there as lot of interesting things are shown there. You will feel like magic show but actually these are the power of science. At the park you can enjoy the beautiful flora & fauna with the scientific magic. Science show is open in official hour & park is open for normal park timing.

4. Amaravati Park: Another beautiful park is situated at the entrance of New Digha Sea beach. While residing at any lodge/Guesthouse you can enjoy all these beauties. This park is famous for flower garden & the entertainment for kids. This place is best for family.

5. Shankarpur beach & Fishing Depot: Situated at 14 km distance from Digha. Small resorts are available there. As this place is not such crowded so you can enjoy this place if you don’t like crowd. But you will enjoy more here. You will observe thousands of boats for fishing. At the fishing depot various species of marine fishes available. This place will also entertain you if you like fish. There is long wide sea beach. If you start walking, then you can reach at old Digha after 1 hour as Digha is next beach. At Makar Sankranti (Local festival comes in Jan 14) there is large Puja arranged to Adore Mata Ganga. At that time all boats bring to rest and adored.

6. Mandarmani Beach & Rose Valley: 15 km from Digha. Amazing place where you can enjoy boating, rope way, water sports at Rose Valley Park. There is a beautiful Iskon temple situated at the entrance of this park. Lot of designed resorts are there. I will post separately about this place.
